The quality of answers on this forum is remarkable and there are a handful of posters who represent the heart and soul of compassion, medical knowledge, and the ability to clearly communicate complex answers. In no particular order I’d like to give a shout-out to:
Clint: An internist (I believe), Clint is likely the sort of physician who builds easy rapport with his patients and takes time to listen. He thanks people for asking the question (!); he reassures where appropriate, points patients to their doctors when needed, and has a wonderful ability to explain complex issues. When asked about becoming a physician, he tends to fill in a sort of “spiritual” aspect to his art which I find fascinating. Thanks Clint!
Pangolin: No sugar-coating, Dr P tells it like it is and if you ask a question you had better be ready for the response. Sitting atop the YA Medicine Throne as the Top Answerer, Pangolin has provided a lot of help to many seeking information here. Let’s hear it for Pangolin!
Bellydoc: Although bellydoc has not been around lately, he has provided a surgeon’s perspective on all things clinical, as well as the path on becoming a physician. I enjoy your answers, bellydoc!
Marie: In addition to being exceptionally intelligent and knowledgeable, I enjoy Marie’s sense of humor which peaks through her insightful answers. I can imagine Marie being excellent with both her young patients and with their anxious parents who find themselves in need of a pediatric neurologist. Thank you Marie!
John de Witt: He just seems to nail it every time on such a wide variety of issues and has a remarkable abilty to explain the essence of any problem. You’ll learn a lot reading through the answers he has provided on YA forums. I certainly have.
Graydoc: Graydoc wieghs in on questions and has been an arbitrator of sorts when the answers get a bit out of hand. I am trying to remember specifics and of course can not at the moment, but he is able to sort things out in a way that makes sense to the rest of us.
I know I have missed some wonderful people, but the point is for the rest of you to point out who you appreciate on this forum, perhaps provide some detail on how they may have helped you along the way. I know many people just drop in here for a single question or two and leave. But for those of you who are fans of YA Medicine, let’s hear it for your favorites!
Well said, Ivan!

My boyfriend broke up with me in a text message last night after about 6 months of dating. We work together everyday so, avoiding him or never seeing him again isn’t an option. He gave alot of excuses and threw out the “friend” card which is the biggest slap in the face for a girl. But which would get his attention more… If he actually saw all of the tears I have been crying, or if I showed him that I was fine, and I”m better without him?
